The Edwin Fox Ship is a fantastic piece of World heritage that has been lovingly preserved over the last 30 years. The Ship now sits in a Picton dry dock for all to explore and enjoy. The ship is the last of her kind; the last surviving ship that took convicts to Australia, last wooden Crimea War troop carrier, one of the oldest Merchant ship in the World, a pioneering refrigeration Ship and the oldest wooden vessel that brought immigrants to New Zealand. The Edwin Fox Maritime Museum is a leading Marlborough tourist attraction and unique learning experience.
As the Edwin Fox visitor host you will be responsible for the delivery of excellent customer service to all visitors and users of Edwin Fox Maritime Museum. This will include keeping informed about exhibitions, museum events and general visitor attraction information to engage and inform your visitors which can be in the form of leading museum tours as required.
This is a part-time role working 9.00 am – 1.00pm Saturdays and Sundays for Summer, 9.00 am – 12.00pm Saturday and Sundays for Winter, with additional hours as required.

This role requires someone with:
- Proven flexible and collaborative style.
- Strong community engagement skills.
- Excellent time management skills
- Previous experience in delivering exceptional customer service
- Confidence to lead tour groups
