Council’s People & Capability (P&C) team are seeking a Senior HR Advisor. In this position you will work in partnership with leaders to embed effective HR practices that support organisational goals and prioritise the employee experience.
As an HR generalist you will have experience dealing with people at all levels and providing day-to-day operational support across a range of activities, including employment relations, performance and remuneration management, learning and development, recruitment, change management, and organisation culture aspirations.
In your role as a trusted advisor, you will assess and anticipate risks and benefits of potential actions and approaches; and provide recommendations, coaching, advice and support to people leaders to help deliver outcomes that work for the organisation and for the people in it.
This is a part-time position (24-30 hours per week) which is fixed-term for a 12-month period, to provide support to the P&C team while team members are engaged on a project.

You will be experienced in providing senior-level technical advice to support informed decision‑making, and in offering comprehensive guidance to both managers and employees
This role requires someone with:
- A relevant university degree in Human Resource Management or relevant area.
- Solid experience as a HR professional.
- Up-to-date knowledge of NZ employment relations, trends, and HR best practice.
