Mo tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role

Become part of the team managing the region’s parks and open spaces. Our work is ultimately about working together to care for our region’s incredible environment, matching our skills and resources with the vision and aspirations of our community. You will play an important role that ensures our regional assets are well monitored, maintained and safe for public use. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining Council’s parks and open spaces strategic asset management framework including the Asset Management Plan while assisting with the review and development of policy and reserve management plan work.

 

You will be responsible for providing real life-cycle management of parks and open space asset information.

This role requires strategic decision making, experience in realising value for money and an understanding of asset management systems. Coupled with managing a comprehensive and evidence-based system of parks and open spaces assets. Ensuring that service delivery demonstrates the company's commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and customer service while meeting key performance indicators, in accordance with Councils vision.

Ko ngā wheako ōu | About you

You will support the effective planning, maintenance, and renewal of Council’s parks and open spaces network by ensuring accurate and reliable asset data, by undertaking conditional assessments, analysing lifecycle information, and providing technical support to asset management systems and processes.

 

Ideally you will also have:

  • Proven experience in asset management, GIS (ArcGIS), systems or databases.
  • Tertiary qualifications or experience in asset management or planning.
  • Experience in analysis of asset management data and report writing is desirable.
  • Excellent organisation & initiative abilities.
