As an Airport Operations & Safety Officer, you’ll support the safe and efficient operation of the entire airport environment, including airside, landside, and terminal facilities. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role at the heart of airport operations — perfect for someone who thrives on responsibility, problem‑solving, and teamwork
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safety management & Compliance
- Carry out daily safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments
- Support our Safety Management System (SMS) and internal auditing programme
- Assist with incident and accident investigation and training exercises
- Conduct runway, taxiway, apron, lighting, foreign object damage, and wildlife hazard inspections
- Perform airfield security patrols, and ensure safe practices by contractors
- Manage traffic flow, front‑of‑terminal activity, car parking and public safety
- Support waste management, recycling, and environmental monitoring
This role is shift-based: averaging 36.33 hours per week, including early and late rotations + weekend/public holiday work.

You’re a practical, reliable, and safety‑focused person who enjoys working both independently and alongside a small but supportive team.
You bring:
- Experience in a safety‑critical or regulated environment (aviation a bonus)
- Strong communication skills — clear, confident, and customer‑focused
- Solid computer and technical capability (Microsoft Office + automated systems)
- A clean, full driver’s licence and strong personal integrity
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Willingness to work early/late shifts, weekends, public holidays, and respond to on occasion to after‑hours callouts
- Able to follow procedures while also recognising when to escalate issues
- Responsible, dependable, flexible and safety-conscious
