Mo tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role

Be the eyes, ears, and voice for Marlborough's environment.

Do you enjoy being out in the community, building relationships, and tackling challenges that make a real difference? Are you equally comfortable having a conversation with a farmer, a business owner, or a concerned member of the public?

If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for an Environmental Protection Officer to join our team and help protect the unique landscapes, waterways, and communities that make Marlborough such a special place to live and work. You'll spend your time out across the region visiting a wide variety of sites, meeting people from all walks of life, investigating issues, and helping protect our environment for future generations.

At its heart, this role is all about building strong relationships, having meaningful conversations, and using your interpersonal skills to educate, influence, and encourage good environmental practice across our community. When situations require a firmer approach, you'll be confident investigating issues fairly and objectively, gathering evidence, and contributing to enforcement action that supports Council's regulatory responsibilities.

If you enjoy variety, love solving problems, and want a career where your work genuinely matters, this could be the perfect opportunity.

This is a full-time role based in Blenheim.
